As part of the North York Moors Tourism Network we are helping to promote Yorkshire Treasures. We hope that you will agree that Throstle Nest is a Yorkshire Treasure.
You do not need to spend a fortune to enjoy yourself. There are so many simple pleasures in life.
Recently we sat outside in the sunshine, drinking a cup of coffee and listening to the ripple of the stream over rocks and a thrush singing its heart out. Throstle is a thrush. That's the only noise we could hear.
Another day friends visited and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life - home-made scones (there's milk in the fridge and home-made scones and jam, tea and coffee ready for your arrival too); skimming (or trying to!) stones in the river; watching a mass of butterflies on the large sage bush.
A good start to the day - boiled eggs and home-made bread for breakfast. We have our own hens and little chicks at the moment. (You too can watch them scratting around in the field, buy their eggs and enjoy boiled eggs and soldiers)
There is nothing small about the North York Moors National Park. Whether you want the coast, woodland or moors there is a vast choice.
Throstle Nest Cottage has a small secluded garden, packed with plants. Enjoy sitting in the sunshine, listening to the river and watching the butterflies, bees and birds. A nature lovers haven.
Many guests say that it is the small little extras that make their holiday special, such as fresh milk in the fridge ready for your arrival.
